  He hoped in time Sara would find the courage to love someone again. Life was too short to be alone. But that someone wouldn’t be him.

  Perhaps you should listen to your own advice.

  Weylock silenced the voice inside him.

  This was a path he had to walk alone.

  Weylock got into his car, put the Mustang in gear, and pulled into the traffic. As he merged onto the highway entrance ramp, he turned on the radio.

  Sometimes, the universe is a cruel and violent place. But it also had a sense of humor. “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon blasted from the car speakers. Weylock wondered if the big guy upstairs was having a joke at his expense or was signaling his approval of his handling of this latest case.

  Weylock chose to believe the latter. As he left Nashland behind, he howled along with the radio.

  He had rid the world of another monster, but many more remained.

  One by one, they would all experience the wrath of the Hexecutioner.
